REAL announces name change a new approval body

The consumer code for domestic renewables (REAL Consumer Code) operated by Renewable Energy Assurance Ltd has been changed. It was announced that the REAL Consumer Code has changed it’s name to the Renewable Energy Consumer Code or RECC. The reason for the change, according to REAL, is to better reflect the fact the REAL operate several schemes, not just the code.
The Code is one of the first to be approved by the Trading Standards Institute (TSI) since responsibility for approving consumer codes transferred from the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) to the TSI on 1st April 2013, along with other existing codes which had previously been approved by the OFT.
