MCS Accreditation specialists Easy MCS have announced they are working alongside new MCS Certification body Stroma Certification.

Stroma Certification is the leading provider of governmental approved certification schemes and corresponding training and software for assessors, inspectors and installers that complement the building industry developments of reducing emissions, saving energy and building sustainably.

Stroma’s Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) scheme ensures that all notifications, inspections and installations of the microgeneration technologies; solar photovoltaics (PV), solar thermal and heat pumps are produced to consistently high standards – ensuring that members are:

  • Competent to undertake inspections and installations
  • Qualified to the National Occupation Standard qualification(s) required
  • Adequately insured (Professional Indemnity (PI) and Public Liability (PL)) and have obtained Insurance Backed Warranty where appropriate
  • Adopting operational procedures maintaining quality assurance (QA) consistency and accuracy of installations
  • Fully informed of legislative developments and incentives, undertaking a minimum level of continuing professional development (CPD)
  • Maintaining a high standard of operational integrity, whilst undertaking both the on-site and off-site activity associated with the notifiable works
  • Recording appropriate details/paperwork for auditing
  • Installer certification entails assessing the supply, design, and installation, set-to-work and commissioning of renewable microgeneration technologies.

“We are pleased to be working with Stroma as they are well known for offering a wide range of industry leading training courses, certification services, support and advice. Stroma is established within the technologies of the renewables industry and aim to increase the opportunities for certified installers in achieving MCS Certification. We are pleased to be able to assist installers looking to achieve MCS Certification in reaching the standards required prior to being assessed” says Easy MCS Sales Manager Thomas Farquhar.

The MCS, a recognised quality assurance scheme, for low to zero carbon (LZC) installations and renewable technologies, promotes a mark of competency in demonstrating installations are carried out to the highest quality each time. Stuart Oakes from Stroma Certification comments on the partnership, “Achieving certification reinforces an installers professional reputation and connects many key initiatives for lowering carbon emissions, for example the feed-in-tariffs (FITs) and the renewable heat incentives (RHIs), Stroma and Easy MCS offer a straightforward route to achieving MCS certification”
